City Links

Once you are in the Official Web Site of The City of Los Angeles, you will find links that take you to the information or forms you need. No more searching for phone numbers, talking to answering systems and getting disconnected.

But bear in mind that the civic web sites are generally poorly maintained, inconsistent and labyrinthine with links that disappear or change frequently. So if you run across a broken link, just let us know.

Wildlife

  • Paul Krebaum's Skunk Remedy–because tomato juice is a waste of time. We've used this formula–made from a handful of drugstore items–several times, and it works a treat. NOTE: Keep mixture away from your dog's face and eyes (it's a harsh solution). If your dog has been sprayed in the face, try any over-the-counter douche. Info on treating inanimate surfaces can be found in the FAQ on Krebaum's site.
  • What can we do about the coyotes? According to the CA Dept. of Fish & Game, "keep them wild."
  • Help the University of California Cooperative Extension by reporting coyote sightings through their Coyote Cacher program. You can also sign up to receive alerts about encounters in your area.
  • I was so frustrated with the squirrels in our yard that I contacted Wildlife Officer, Greg Randall. Officer Randall was kind enough to respond with this mountain of information on "Coexisting with Wildlife", specifically squirrels. It didn't eliminate the squirrel problem, but I learned to live with them while discouraging them.
